a fold hinge! this is in a highly deformed limestone. the deformation is likely due to a large-scale strike-slip faulting region, but on the outcrop scale there’s an incredible amount of faulting and folding!
I've seen roads in the Smoky Mountains that cut through hills, and the ripples show in the rocks along the sides. In some places they're folded to the point of corrugated! Geology is fascinating.
